Meranti Green Steel offers a new approach to low-emission steelmaking that is both commercially and environmentally sustainable.
We operate with a flexible business model designed to decarbonize in tandem with evolving carbon prices, ensuring commercial resilience. With no legacy constraints, we leverage the latest steelmaking and digital technologies to stay at the forefront of the industry.
By developing decoupled Hot Briquetted Iron (HBI) supply chains from the most competitive sources, such as Oman and Western Australia, we create geographically split iron and steelmaking operations. This strategic flexibility enables us to locate HBI plants where access to competitive natural gas and green or blue hydrogen is strongest while optimizing steel production closer to our customers.
Our model minimizes transportation emissions, secures renewable energy access, and supports long-term cost competitiveness. This combination allows us to deliver high-quality steel that meets future carbon regulations while remaining accessible to global markets.
