Bangkok – Millcon Steel PCL, Thailand’s leading integrated steel manufacturer and distributor, and Meranti Green Steel Pte. Ltd., a Singapore-based green steel business, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to collaborate on advancing low-carbon steel making(decarbonizing steel) and promoting Green Steel production in Thailand.

Driving the Steel Industry Toward Green Steel

Both companies will collaborate on strategies to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in the steelmaking process and promote low-carbon steel production, supporting the sustainable transition of the steel industry toward Green Steel.

The partnership also aims to strengthen engagement with industry stakeholders — including government agencies, industry associations, and related businesses — to develop standards, guidelines, and supporting mechanisms for Green Steel production in Thailand, in alignment with global trade trends and environmental standards.
